HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR TEXTILE JACKETS?

THE CLEANING PROCESS IN STAGES
1. PREPARATION
Gather all the necessary tools, including a soft brush, a clean cloth, lukewarm water, a mild soap (such as a soap for delicate garments) and possibly a specific stain remover for stubborn stains. Remove the shells and lining from the jacket.
2. DUST REMOVAL
Use a damp cloth to remove surface dirt and dust particles. Pre-treatment of stains: If your jacket has stubborn stains, gently apply a suitable stain remover to the stained area. Follow the product instructions and leave for the recommended time.
3. CLEANING
Fill a sink or bucket with warm water and add a mild soap. Immerse the clean cloth in the soapy solution and wring out the excess water. Gently clean the jacket by gently "rubbing" the dirty areas. Concentrate on the areas most prone to dirt, such as elbows, cuffs and collar.
CAUTION: Do not rub hard/with anything other than a soft cloth to avoid damaging the fabric.
4. RINSE
Rinse the clean cloth with clean water and wring it out. Then wipe over the jacket to remove any soap residue. Be sure to rinse all areas thoroughly.
5. DRYING
Gently blot excess water from the jacket with a clean, dry towel. Do not wring the jacket, as this could deform the fabric. To dry, hang the jacket on a hanger or lay it flat in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or any source of heat. Avoid using a tumble dryer, as this can damage the fabric.
6. ADDITIONAL MAINTENANCE
If your textile jacket has a removable lining, follow the manufacturer's specific instructions for cleaning it separately. Some textile jackets can also benefit from an application of waterproofing to maintain their water resistance.
